As a local British Columbian, non-profit start-up, we began with a vision of making a difference locally and globally.

Our mission is simple:  How can we help?

Well, with one initiative at a time.  Our dreams are big and our hearts are bigger.  We really want to help make our world a better place, through empowerment and dignity.

Our Inaugural Project:

  • Our goal is to build a much needed classroom at the Dilkusha School for Girls in Fiji.
  • This school needs our help:  The school currently cares for 33 students at various levels:
    • high school – 8 students
    • primary – 15 students
    • home school – 4 students
    • disadvantaged – 6 students

There are a multitude of challenges at this small school, and we are looking to help them with space.

Our goal is to raise $6,000 to build a new classroom as an addition to the existing school.

This is a great opportunity to support a cause that will benefit so many students!

Our first endeavour towards raising the necessary funds will be our A Night of Empowerment Fundraiser for Fiji event at Match Pub Eatery & Public House in New Westminster, on June 8, 2019.

Purchase a ticket by contacting Ronita or Reema through the contact us form on this site or if you are unable to attend but would like to contribute we are happy to accept donations (cash or cheque  – note cheques to be made out to the Empowering Hands Helping Global Minds Society).

This event is sold out – but if you would like to make a donation to this important fundraiser, please contact us.

Additionally, if you are a local business we are asking for donations of goods, services or gift cards to be raffled off to raise funds at the June 8th event. Please contact us – we can arrange pick-up of your contribution.

We are grateful for your support and we know that we can make a difference.  Thank you for seeing our vision of making the world a better place, one initiative at a time.

111 Care Packages for Community in Whalley, BC

December 22, 2019

Sunday, December 22, 2019, the team from Empowering Hands Global Minds distributed care packages to the many forgotten people on the streets – people of all ages and ethnicity.

Our goal was to provide care packages that helped all recipients feel special and remembered at this time of year.

Hand packed in a reusable cloth bag, we included items to keep the homeless warm, to feed them with a variety of snacks and fresh baked cookies, and to provide personal and oral hygiene items for each individual.

111 care packages were distributed on December 22, 2019.

21 volunteers helped to prepare and distribute the packages.

Our team included children and adults who wrote Christmas cards with inspirational messages that recognized the value of all.

The cost of this initiative was $1500 which included $1000 worth of donated goods.  The benefit to the community was supporting homeless and vulnerable people and bringing some joy to their lives.
